Overview

The topics on which the essays are based are from English language questions papers conducted over the years by the various state ministries of education and NECO. It is designed for higher students in Schools and Colleges and for anyone interested in improving his/her writing skills.

The book is divided into seven sections namely: (1) Essays, (2) Letters, (3) Debates, (4) Articles, (5) Speech, (6) Story, and (7) Composition.

In all there are a total of 178 write-ups in the book providing firsthand lesson for readers. The highest number of entries is under letters which has a total of 84 followed by Essays (45) while Articles has the least number of 2 entries.

To help students understand and appreciate how to write on each of the presented topics, the author provides guidelines on what points to lay emphasis on. This prevents perambulating by students.

There are practice exercises for readers to try their hands on.

Exced.net comments

The book is a much welcome development in particular when most students cannot write effectively. One reason why school leavers and young graduates find it difficult to get jobs has to do with the quality of their applications. It is just appalling. Your application or your letter is your ambassador. Decisions on whether to proceed with you or give you a chance for the job depends on people’s impression of you derived from your letter and or application. There is therefore every need for students to improve their writing skills. It is in this wise that the book "CONTINOUOS WRITING for Schools and Colleges” by Kunle Dagunduro is featured this month and recommended for all serious minded students.
